Reflection on New Media in Art Exhibition

Today is my first time making an exhibition. I'm very happy with you doing it together. I never thought that there was so much knowledge to hold an exhibition, such as comparing which photos are suitable to put together, the photo frames used for similar photos should be consistent, the distance and height of the photo frames should be unified, and daylighting. In my own view,  it's fun to make an exhibition. But on second thought, those artists who do their own exhibitions should be very hard. We worked together until 11:30 to decorate a small room, and their exhibition may be more than one room, not only photos, but also many other things to consider.

I also have some thoughts about making my own magazine. Everyone's magazine style is different, which makes me feel very meaningful. When I open a book, I see not only the photos taken, but also the people who took the photos and made the book.

#If you feel uncomfortable about the entry in the picture above, I apologize here, and please let me know.

IMAGE & INTENTION: A MESSAGE WITHOUT A CODE

I selected this photo when I was organizing my photos. It doesn't have textual message. SO,  it is doubtless necessary to go back to partially illiterate societies, to a sort of pictographic state of the image. Image Illustration: ➡️ Symbolic message: an old garden. (A lot of plants in pots, wild cats, and concrete ground). An old garden with mice. ➡️ Connoted message: The garden was highly possibile built in the 1950s, and it is located in an area most likely in southern China. The manager of the garden was most likely elderly. The largest plant, it is called sago palm whose academic name is Cycas Revoluta . It is wildly planted in southern China, or in southern Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia.  Sago palm's HISTORY BACKGROUND : During China's economic difficulties (1958-1962), when there was a famine in many places, farmers in the area where the sorrel originated dug up the roots of the tree to remove the toxic ingredients and then made starch fo...

Jingquan's Flicker posts

Guess what's on the right.                  The environment as a processor of information is propaganda (McLuhan, 142). Nowadays the medias only want to show the information they can make profit with. Most of them are personal showing off, or are including commercial or political purpose. Some even has strong personal perspective, and the bad thing is one people can be none bias when expressing their social values. If we only observe information provide by others but not thinking. We will lose our own point of view. So, it is important to keep awake, thinking if the information is propaganda or not.             For my work, I took about 500 photos. Then I found my topic: the natural and humanistic art embellishment of my life. I formed my own point of view after obervating on campus, along the street in downtown, in the woods by the river, and in the community nearby. You can have your own under...

The Medium Is The Massage Research Report

For society, the truly meaningful and valuable "information" is not the content transmitted by the media in various times, but the nature of the communication tools used in this era, the possibilities it creates and the social changes it brings. For example, how does Orff's music education   philosophy  affect the music education from 1924 to now? Orff ’s   belief   that expressing thoughts and emotions is the instinctive desire of human beings, which is naturally revealed in the form of language, singing (including musical instrument performance), dance and so on. Music is the inherent ability of man . So, he encourage his students to display their creativity through natural response to music. All in all, Orff  spread   his   ideas   though   the   Counter   School,   his   music,   his   drama performances,   and   his percussion instruments. All these are successful and show his belief in chil...
