For society, the truly meaningful and valuable "information" is not the content transmitted by the media in various times, but the nature of the communication tools used in this era, the possibilities it creates and the social changes it brings. For example, how does Orff's music education philosophy affect the music education from 1924 to now?
Orff’s belief that expressing thoughts and emotions is the instinctive desire of human beings, which is naturally revealed in the form of language, singing (including musical instrument performance), dance and so on. Music is the inherent ability of man. So, he encourage his students to display their creativity through natural response to music.
All in all, Orff spread his ideas though the Counter School, his music, his drama performances, and his percussion instruments. All these are successful and show his belief in children's music education to the public. People who attend his school, his music drama, and his percussion instruments will be affected and pay attention to their natural intuitive in music.
I like your presentation, and the subtitles are funny too😂
ReplyDeleteI'm getting to my commenting late (sorry), but, as a music major, I was really interested in your presentation! Your introduction to his education style reminded me of a concept called 'participatory music' (where music making is structured to allow anyone to participate at their level), which is used often to analyze non-Western music practices. It made me wonder if he got these ideas from a specific music culture and if he credited these practices as an inspiration.
