I like this topic "Too Near and Too Far".

It reminds me a pencil drawn picture which is from the partial art academy exam in 2017 in my country.

The partial art academy exam's topic is "relationships between three people", but in that picture, only two people is presenting: a mother around 30 and a boy around 10. They sit in the two sides of an old fashion leather sofa. The mother is sewing and the boy is playing game on smart phone. They both looks unhappy bored and don't notice each other's unhappiness. Thus, they are too near siting on the same sofa as family; they are too far ignoring each other's feeling in silence. On their back, there are 3 photos on the wall. Two photos has two persons; it's not that clear but I recognized they are an adult and a child. Another photo is half fallen and only pictured one person. As people knowing how family works, we know the father is not present. His absence from the picture and from the family portraits photos are implying that the father never join the family business. Also, the mother and child sitting on two sides strongly implying that they don't communicate. They do their own things. That's their relationships: "family".

You must noice that this picture is off topic. The examinee took a risk, if the examiner understand the implying or not.  There is only two persons in his picture, however, they underlines the third absent person. He got a high score as I know. I took a photo of it but I can't find it. Any way, I found I have the photos of other examinees's pictures for you to compare. They all perfectly fit the topic “relationship between three people."

Although they are not social photos, they are real. That's what I have in my life and my world. The off topic one left me such an impression because it applied presence to show absence. It records a common social phenomenon in my country. Men do not present in children's education and play. (99% of the parents' meetings were attended by my mother, from my primary school to high school.) Women is pest off by houseworks, and they don't have time and mind to notice children's mental grow. The parents do care about their family: one is making money; one is dealing with chores. They think to make more money or better meals to improve their life quality, but they ignore the reason why they want to do this. What do you think the answer is?

The reading talks more about self presenting in photos. The equation on page 98, I cannot agree more: "Every time a film is shot,  privacy is violated. People do realize this in 1900s. The actors become popular and do advertisement... I don't understand why people sell and buy faces and personal image. Why not just focus on their own life. Don't be a paparazzi.

Therefore, I took selfies before I cut my hairs. I'm not that welling to share. So, just two good ones here. They put me into the moment that my hair was still long. Also, it reminds me that the one in the picture is past. Now my hair is short. I'm not that satisfied with my cutting.

The Global Village‘s Backside.

The Video The Instagram did hid the ad about Blurb from me. However, this is enough to prove that instagram and blurb share the data of consumers and users on both sides. As it literally meaning, it's hidden, it's gone on my ins, but that doesn't mean the leakage of my personal privacy has stopped. I always see the advertisements when shopping or searching on other websites. This reminds me of a word: big data. Big data can push you a lot of the same or similar things according to the keywords you search and read. Some apps even share data, so that you can see conditioner ads on other websites after you buy shampoo on one website. With the global popularity of the network, the network eliminates the time and space between people all over the world. Facebook, Messenger, instagram, zoom, wechat, all kings of emails... Even if you need to contact Party A on the other side of the world, you can still communicate quickly and conveniently through the network. Because of this conv

Jingquan's Flicker posts

Guess what's on the right.                  The environment as a processor of information is propaganda (McLuhan, 142). Nowadays the medias only want to show the information they can make profit with. Most of them are personal showing off, or are including commercial or political purpose. Some even has strong personal perspective, and the bad thing is one people can be none bias when expressing their social values. If we only observe information provide by others but not thinking. We will lose our own point of view. So, it is important to keep awake, thinking if the information is propaganda or not.             For my work, I took about 500 photos. Then I found my topic: the natural and humanistic art embellishment of my life. I formed my own point of view after obervating on campus, along the street in downtown, in the woods by the river, and in the community nearby. You can have your own understanding after looking at these photos. I won't speak my views that might mislead

IMAGE & INTENTION: A MESSAGE WITHOUT A CODE

I selected this photo when I was organizing my photos. It doesn't have textual message. SO,  it is doubtless necessary to go back to partially illiterate societies, to a sort of pictographic state of the image. Image Illustration: ➡️ Symbolic message: an old garden. (A lot of plants in pots, wild cats, and concrete ground). An old garden with mice. ➡️ Connoted message: The garden was highly possibile built in the 1950s, and it is located in an area most likely in southern China. The manager of the garden was most likely elderly. The largest plant, it is called sago palm whose academic name is Cycas Revoluta . It is wildly planted in southern China, or in southern Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia.  Sago palm's HISTORY BACKGROUND : During China's economic difficulties (1958-1962), when there was a famine in many places, farmers in the area where the sorrel originated dug up the roots of the tree to remove the toxic ingredients and then made starch for consumption . T
